2010 Hofele Ceyster GT 660
The German tuners at Hofele Design have just come up with a new appearance package for Porsche’s best selling SUV. The 2010 Ceyster GT 660 is based upon the Hofele 560 kit for the Cayenne, except that along with a few more available horse power, this one is a wide body model. The kit features a wide mouth front bumper feeding extra air to the Turbo’s intercoolers as well as a pair of extra driving lights for a more aggressive look. The hood gets a pair of power domes with vents in the back for hot air extraction as well as behind the wheels in the front fenders. Out back, Hofele adds a sporty spoiler and a new diffuser to go along with the wider wheel arches.
The Ceyster’s sporty look is completed by a slight chassis drop to bring the body down closer the Reverso 22 rims, that of course measure 22 inches in diameter. Hofele is also quick to point out that because the majority of both generations of Cayenne are so similar, the Ceyster kit can be fitted to pre facelift models, not only updating their appearance, but giving them a sportier look at the same time. Aside from the extensive array of body mods, Hofele also has a few tricks in their bag to bring the turbocharged Cayenne’s output up to around 600 HP and 642 lb-ft of torque.
Press release after the jump.

Chevron GR8 to be revealed in January 2010
Chevron Racing Cars has been building proper race cars since the 1960s with lightweight and well engineered race winning machines. Seeing the need for a more practical and affordable track day machine Chevron is looking to make a comeback with the GR8 and of course, an all new one make series that is set to start running in April of 2010. According to the manufacturer, the Chevron GR8 is considered to be the successor of the classic 1968 B8 that was built to beat Colin Chapman’s Lotus Elan.
For 2010, CRG looks to impress with a mid mounted naturally aspirated 2.0 Liter Cosworth built four cylinder engine pumping out an impressive 255 HP. The whole package is slated to tip the scales at around 1200 pounds, giving the GR8 an excellent power to weight ratio adding to the gentleman racer’s performance capabilities. Chevron Racing Cars spokesman Ed Burrows says that “The new GR8 is intended as a credit-crunch racer. It will have the performance of a Ferrari or Porsche track car, but with only a fraction of the running costs” and with preparations for a racing series starting next year, owners will not only have a reason to track their cars, but they will also have a level playing field to do it in.

Video: How to create a matte black Ferrari F430 Spider
For some automotive enthusiasts the dream of owning anything that comes from the factory with a Rosso Corsa paint job is a lifelong ambition, however there are a few Ferraristas who will readily trade in their racing red paint job for a more stealth like flat black finish. That is where the guys from E25 step in to completely wrap this Ferrari F430 with one of their matte black vinyl conversion, and just watching them work might be worth it. However the best part about a vinyl wrap as opposed to a re spray is that for one the only mess you have to clean up are the scraps of black vinyl that fall to the floor as opposed to multiple stages of sanding and then priming before you can even paint; but if you grow tired of the stealth fighter look all you have to do is peel back the plastic to reveal that beautiful Rosso Corsa finish.

Porsche Cayman X-Wide by XTR Carchip
This may be the first time that you’ve heard about the Berlin based tuning firm XTR Carchip, but after taking a look at this wide body super sport Porsche Cayman X-Wide, XTR is a name that you won’t soon forget. Built on top of a Cayman S platform, XTR reworked almost every square inch of sheet metal in order to create the track ready machine wearing a set of gold BBS racing rims measuring 18 inches in diameter and shod with sticky Pirelli rubber that lays before you. Complete with a detachable carbon fiber reinforced plastic front splitter for more civilized use and a full jungle gym surrounding a pair of GT3 spec Recaro buckets and matching four point Scroth racing harnesses making it the ideal track day toy.
Although the X-Wide looks like it is a purpose built fire breathing beast, the mid engine flat six remains a bit tame and only benefits from a Super Sprint Magnum cat back exhaust and a slight ECU retune that brings the wide body Cayman’s maximum output up to 310 HP, raising the car’s top speed to 177 MPH. However this is just the beginning, because XTR is also working on a twin turbocharged version that will produce upwards of 850 HP. So it would appear that the X-Wide is simply a test mule for XTR Carchip’s future plans, and boy do they seem big.

Ferrari 512 TR/M gets Cargraphic wheels
The German tuning firm Cargraphic isn’t finished celebrating just yet. In an attempt at updating a classic super car with a new set of wheels, the legentary Ferrari 512 TR from the early ’90s can now continue to roll on into the 21st century with a fresh set of mesh 19 inch wheels that would have made Sonny Crockett jealous. Cargraphic guarantees that their new forged wheels will stand up to the thrashing induced by a high revving 390 HP V12 while the new slender spokes work nicely with the Testa Rossa’s thin slats that make up the classic super car’s wild air intakes. The simple addition of a new set of wheels will go a long way towards updating the Ferrari’s iconic 1980s aerodynamic wedge shaped design.

Ferrari F70 coming in 2012
As you may already know, the exotic Italian automaker Ferrari is busy preparing a successor for their last anniversary celebrating halo super car, the Enzo. It only makes sense that the future car will be called the F70 in honor of a 70th anniversary and is promised to be unveiled sometime in 2012. The upcoming F70 would compete head to head with other high end limited edition super cars like the Lamborghini Reventón and Bugatti Veyron. There will only be 399 F70s produced and prices will range in the $1 Million region.
With efficiency high on their list of priorities, Ferrari wants to keep the future F70’s weight to a minimum (1000 kilograms), just like the Millechilli. Now this would be a substantial undertaking for any ordinary automaker, but Ferrari is ready to apply every weight saving technique in their arsenal. While the Enzo was powered by a high revving V12 that made 650 HP, the F70 will use a new direct injection twin turbo V8, quite similar to the legendary F40, with output in the area of 660 HP. This should be enough for the future super car to sprint from 0 to 60 MPH in under three seconds and the F70’s top speed will go up to 230 MPH.

Ford Fiesta Movement at the 2009 SEMA Show
The boys from Bonurant had to share the back lot of the Las Vegas Convention Center with the blue oval because as part of Ford’s Fiesta Movement, visitors to the 2009 SEMA Show had a chance to wait in line to take the all new premium compact for a spin. The Fiesta Movement is a grassroots marketing campaign set forth by the American automaker to promote their new product that will be unveiled a week from now in Los Angeles. The movement has generated millions of hits on youtube and registered 60,000 hand raisers while Ford lets its agents speak freely about the not even released vehicle; these are a few things that have certainly made the Fiesta’s Brand Manager Sam De La Garza awful proud. However the little ride and drive that Ford set up is sure to have converted a few more Americans into small car fans.

Falken at the 2009 SEMA Show
Speaking of tire smoking drift cars and Porsches, another familiar face at the 2009 SEMA Show was Falken with a pair of very different blue and green high performance machines to show off what Team Falken is all about. It is nice to see that one manufacturer can be so successful in two completely different disciplines of motor sport.
Representing the world of drifting where goal is to get sideways, light up the tires and hope for an outstanding crowd reaction in a matter of corners was Formula D driver and recent Japanese export Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s competition drift car, a 2010 Ford Mustang with enough supercharged Detroit iron under the hood to go through a set of Falkens in a matter of minutes. On the other hand, the Falken Porsche that races in the American Le Mans Series is about getting as much grip as possible from the sticky Falken slicks, keeping wheel spin to a minimum and hoping not to get the crowd on its feet until the end of the lengthy endurance race. If they got excited any sooner, it would probably signal the end of the car’s day. However as different as the setup on each of these cars is, they are both able to excel at their particular brand of motor sport.

Dodge sets a new lap record at Laguna Seca with a Viper ACR
It wasn’t too long ago that we were reporting about the all new American super car, the Devon Motorworks GTX set the single lap record for a production car at the historic Laguna Seca circuit in Salinas, California with a time of 1:35.075. Justin Bell, the owner of Devon, might have offended a few people at Chrysler when he gave them a low ball offer to purchase the Viper brand, because earlier today the American automaker took over a second off of the GTX’s lap time with an all new 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR. The track tuned Viper unofficially clocked in at 1:33:915, not only good enough to reset the record, but bring a bit more value to Chrysler’s halo car.
